This is Aalto, a theme inspired by the work of the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Not to be confused with the Aalto Lounge, which is a place I’ve been a time or two. Nope, this is a great looking theme for architects though. The thing about mid century design, there’s nothing extra in it, it’s everything you need and nothing you don’t need. That’s what makes it so successful over the years, there’s nothing that can get dated. You strip all the junk away and you’re left with the essence of what makes the design good or interesting.
That’s the theory anyway.
Some folks find that mid century design is too cold, too distant, but I think it’s great.
I’m not going to be able to do my full review thing here with quotes from folks who have purchased this Aalto theme, because it’s not even been out a full day as I’m reviewing this. (It has sold twice already in that time though, haha!) People do love their minimalist themes.
So, I’ll have to do something else to tread water here. Aalto is by Edge Themes, a team of designers and developers who have created over 50 items for ThemeForest, so it’s pretty clear they know their way around WordPress. Yep, they’re a Power Elite designer and they don’t just give that title away, you’ve got to sell a ton of stuff to make that happen. A lot of their themes are about architecture, though you may remember I reviewed another of their themes called Pxlz a few weeks ago. (Wow, I picked a winner reviewing that one, Pxlz’s already sold 100 times in just around 20 days, that’s amazing!)
